Out of the two, for the value, I would pick the Hot Tools. It looks really cute, I love the zebra design, and it is cheaper than the chi, yet it is still good quality and will work well. Mostly, it’s gotten good reviews. It’s got temperature settings, unlike the chi. Also, chi’s are good, but there’s been so many reports of it breaking in a year, because of the delicate cord. When it works however, it is good. I would not pay $150 + every year just for a straightener. Besides, Hot Tools is just as good and looks even better! haha.
If you want another straightener, I would say Sedu or Solia is the best =] folia.com has them cheap. GHDs are supposed to be top of the line, but cost $200-$300 =S.
Remember to keep you hair healthy when straightening. Use a natural shampoo… think green! ♥
