I am pretty sure this is the model I have because the exterior looks the same. I love this straightener. I first used it at my hair salon and the next year in my cosmetology class, these straighteners were pulled out for the customers that would come in. Honestly, I feel they work a whole lot better then any other straightener I’ve used. It straightens my hair well and my hair hardly ever goes frizzy through out any of the humid conditions. It has a nice barrel for creating beautiful curls (I hardly ever use a curling iron anymore). I’ve had my straightener for probably 6 or so years now and it still works perfectly fine. I tried switching to another one that I got for $100 and I just went back to my chi. Like I said, I love it.

Maybe I was mesmerized by the high price tag into buying the Chi thinking: “You get what you pay for.” Definitely not the case here. From my experience, this is your garden-variety hair straightener wrapped in a lot of hype. I’ve had this for two months and honestly don’t see or feel a difference from my $30 straightener. In fact, I did a test, straightening one side with the Chi and the other with my old straightener (I was going to use it as a backup to the Chi) and it looked exactly the same. And after two months, I notice no difference with the level of damage to my hair, or in how long my hair stays straight. I think Chi needs to catch up with their technology, it is on par with the cheaper models on the market.
